Tokyo: India's badminton star PV Sindhu on Sunday clinched bronze medal by beating China's He Bing Jiao in the high-voltage match.

In Rio Olympics in 2016, she had won the silver medal.

The brozne medal match lasted for 53 minutes.

She beat her opponent 21- 13, 21-15.

This is the second medal India won in this edition of the mega sports event.

Mirabai Chanu bagged silver medal in weight lifting earlier.

India now has a silver and a bronze medal.

President Ram Nath Kovind wished Sindhu over her achievement.

"P V Sindhu becomes the first Indian woman to win medals in two Olympic games. She has set a new yardstick of consistency, dedication and excellence. My heartiest congratulations to her for bringing glory to India," the official page of the President tweeted.

Indian PM Narendra Modi congratulated her and tweeted: "We are all elated by the stellar performance by @Pvsindhu1. Congratulations to her on winning the Bronze at @Tokyo2020 . She is India’s pride and one of our most outstanding Olympians. #Tokyo2020."
