Tokyo/UNI: India's women javelin thrower Annu Rani failed to qualify for the final round after finishing 14th in the Group A qualification round here on Tuesday.

The 2014 Asian Games bronze medallist finished with 50.35m, 53.19m, 54.04m. She settled with 14th position among the 15 throwers.

Maria Andrejczyk from Poland was the only thrower who could earn the automatic qualification with 65.25m in her first attempt.

Rani was far away from the automatic qualification mark of 63m.

The effort was also well below her personal best of 63.24m, which she gained in the Federation Cup in Patiala in March this year.
