Special Athletes notch up their abilities with less than 15 days to go for World Games

New Delhi, July 15 (IBNS) - Having practiced through four Camps held exclusively for stepping up preparations for the World Games, Special Athletes from India are all braced to face world competition.

Special Olympics Bharat delegation consists of 333 Athletes, Coaches and officials who are participating in 14 out of 25 Olympic-type sports being conducted at the games.

The Indian delegation departs from four separate locations, namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata between July 20 & 21.

The excitement spirals upwards with each passing day that brings us closer to the Special Olympics World Summer Games, LA, USA to be held from July 25 to Aug  3.

The world Games include a segment of Unified Sports for the first time where persons with and without intellectual disabilities play as team mates.

The travel cost as well as training support has been provided by Government of India though the Ministry of Sports.

La Jolla, a district community of Los Angeles will be the Host Town for the Indian contingent before the official inauguration.
