Simona Halep conquers number one spot in WTA ranking

Madrid, Oct 9 (IBNS): Romanian player Simona Halep is currently the number one player in the world, as per the WTA rankings list released on Monday.

This is the first time she has reached the top spot in the world.

Spain's Garbiñe Muguruza moved down to the second spot.

Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic jumped up to the third spot in the list.

She replaced  Ukrainian Elina Svitolina who reached the fourth position in the rankings.
