Shikhar Dhawan released for first three ODIs against Australia

Mumbai, Sep 14 (IBNS) : After a spectacular show in Sri Lanka, India opener Shikhar Dhawan will miss the first three ODIs of the Paytm Australia tour of India to attend to his wife, who is unwell.

A BCCI release said Shikhar Dhawan has requested to be released from the team for the first three ODIs.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee has decided not to name any replacement for  Dhawan in Indian Cricket Team.

The team for first three ODIs against Australia is as follows:


Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami.

India and Australia will play a total five ODI and three T20 matches. The first ODI tie will be held at Chennai on September 17 to be followed by the matches in Kolkata (Sep 21), Indore (Sep 24), Bengaluru (Sep 28) and Nagpur (Oct 1).

The three T20 matches will be held at Ranchi, Guwahati and Hyderabad respectively on October  seven, ten and 13.
