Serena out of French Open

Paris, May 28 (IBNS): Defending champion Serena Williams crashed out of the French Open by losing in the second round of the tournament against Spain's Garbine Muguruza here on Wednesday.

Muguruza beat the US star 6-2 6-2.

Serena's sister Venus Willaims also suffered defeat as she was defeated by Slovakian Anna Schmiedlova 2-6 6-3 6-4.

After the defeat, Serena said: "Nothing worked out today.... You can't be on every day, and, gosh, I hate to be off during a Grand Slam. "

Serena had won the title in 2013.
