Pune/IBNS: Mitchell Santner's another five-wicket haul helped New Zealand to take back control of the 2nd Test against India as visitors are eyeing their second consecutive win in Pune on Saturday.

Santner took 5 wickets including the one of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was dominating the Kiwi bowlers in the run chase.

At tea break, India were reduced to 178/7 needing 181 more runs to win the match.

Allrounders Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin are unbeaten at 4 and 9 respectively.

New Zealand need only 3 wickets to take the unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Though New Zealand were looking strong to go past the 300-mark, the Indian bowlers managed to bowl out the Kiwis for 255 in the second innings this morning.

Washington Sundar, who picked 7 wickets in the first innings, clinched another 4 in the second innings while allrounder Ravindra Jadeja picked 3 wickets.

On a spin-friendly wicket, cricket icon Ravichandran Ashwin picked 2 wickets for 97 runs in the second innings.

New Zealand skipper Tom Latham was the top scorer for the visitors in the second innings with his 86 runs.

The Kiwis bowled out India for just 156 in the first innings after putting 259 on board after winning the toss and electing to bat first on day 1 of the match.
