Rishabh Pant is the costliest buy in IPL history now, going to Lucknow Super Giants for Rs. 27 crore

Records were broken on the auction table on Sunday after Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant was bought for a record Rs. 27 crore by Lucknow Super Giants.

He is now the costliest player to be ever bought in the history of the tournament.

"Rishabh Pant goes to @LucknowIPL for INR 27 Crore!" IPL wrote on X.

During the same session, Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer was sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore.

Iyer was the skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad in 2024.

Previously, Australian speedster Mitchell Starc was the costliest cricketer bought during an IPL auction for Rs 24.75 Crore.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders had bought him.

In an X post, IPL wrote: "Say hello to the 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 in the history of #TATAIPL. Punjab Kings have Shreyas Iyer on board for a handsome 𝗜𝗡𝗥 𝟮𝟲.𝟳𝟱 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲."
