Regular captain Virat Kohli rested for ODI series against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma named skipper

Mumbai, Nov 27 (IBNS): Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been rested for the upcoming ODI series against visiting Sri Lankan team.

Rohit Sharma will be leading the side in his absence.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named the squad for the third and final Test of the ongoing Paytm Test series against Sri Lanka.

The selectors have also announced the squad for the upcoming three-match Paytm ODI series.

India defeated Sri Lanka in the second Test in Nagpur to Monday on take 1-0  lead in the series.

MS Dhoni has been named in the ODI team.

Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul have also been named in the ODI squad.

R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for the ODI series.

However, they were included in the Test team for the last match of the series.

The last Test assumes significance as it will decide the fate of the series.
