New Delhi/UNI: India cricket team skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday took to twitter to convey his message to his fans to stay safe and be vigilant in view of COVID-19 pandemic.

"Let's stay strong and fight the #COVID19 outbreak by taking all precautionary measures. Stay safe, be vigilant and most importantly remember, prevention is better than cure. Please take care everyone," Kohli wrote on his twitter handle.

All sporting activities around the globe have been either cancelled or postponed with the outbreak of coronavirus including the Indian Premier League (IPL) which was earlier scheduled to take place from March 29, but keeping in mind the health and safety of spectators, the board decided to postpone the tournament till April 15.

The two remaining matches in the India-South Africa series, which were supposed to be played behind closed doors, were also suspended.

The disease has so far claimed lives of over 4000 around the world, while in India more than 80 cases have been reported in which two have died.
