Rome, July 11 (IBNS): Starting a new chapter in his career, Portuguese football star Christiano Ronaldo has signed with Juventus a deal of four years, the football club has confirmed.

The deal made Ronaldo one of the four most expensive players of all time.

In a statement, the club said: "Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with Real Madrid Club De Fùtbol S.p.A. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Dos Santos Aveiro Cristiano Ronaldo has been reached for a consideration of € 100 million payable in 2 financial years, in addition to the solidarity contribution provided by FIFA regulations and additional costs of € 12 million."

In his nine years stint with Real Madrid, Ronaldo has helped the club in winning  four Champions League titles.

The club further said: "Juventus are delighted to announce that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has signed for the club on a four-year contract until 30 June 2022."

Following the development, Ronaldo's reaction has been quoted by BBC, "The time has come to open a new stage in my life, that's why I asked the club to accept transferring me."

In August last year, Brazilian football star Neymar was transferred from Spanish football team Barcelona to Paris St-Germain (PSG) with a world record fees of £200m.

PSG have spent £166m as transfer fees for French striker Kylian Mbappe, who has caught attention in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018.

Barcelona paid Liverpool £142m for Brazilian mid-fielder Philippe Coutinho.

World Cup and Ronaldo:

Ronaldo scored four goals in the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Portugal could not cross the last 16 stage of the tournament.
