PCB sacks selectors Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq after poor show in T20 World Cup, defeat against India, USA in group-stage

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday removed selectors Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq after the team's disappointing performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies.

The 2009 champions crashed out of the tournament from the group stage itself.

Supporters were shocked when the USA beat Pakistan in the group-stage clash.

In New York, arch-rival India defeated Pakistan in a sizzling group-stage encounter which was dominated by Indian bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board … has notified Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz that their services will no longer be required in the national selection committee setup,” the PCB said in a statement as quoted by Dawn News.

Razzaq, who was one of the top all-rounders of Pakistan, was a member of both women's and men's selection committees.
