Paris Olympics 2024: Manu Bhaker advances to finals of women's air pistol event

Paris: After a day filled with disappointments for Indian shooting, Manu Bhaker brought joy to Indian sports fans as she entered into the final of the women's air pistol event on Saturday.

The Indian shooter finished third in the qualification round, scoring 580 points with 27 inner 10s in 60 shots.

Her compatriot, Rhythm Sangwan, did not qualify, finishing in 15th place.

Rhythm Sangwan began strongly with 97 points in the first series of shots but slipped in the rankings after scoring 92 points in the second series.

Hungary’s Veronika Major secured the first place, with Oh Ye Jin of South Korea in second. The final round is scheduled to start at 3:30 PM IST on Sunday, July 28.
