Modern High School students hold centre stage of 49th All India Invitation School Rowing in Kolkata

Kolkata/IBNS: Aditi Srinivas and Ishanvi Jalan of Modern High School held the centre stage winning both their round robin league races in the Pairs event for junior girls at 49th All India Invitation School Rowing Championship at Lake Club course of Rabindra Sarobar Lake here on Thursday.

Aditi and Ishanvi defeated both "A" and "B" team of Delhi Public School (DPS) easily to make a strong claim for the semi final berth.

Ashok Hall "A" team represented by Rishika Das and Shriya Laha also came closer for a slot in the last four stages winning both their races in this group against South Point High School and Ashok Hall "B".

DPS "A" team consisted of Sumedha Ghosh and Bisaja Chakraborty, who won a league race on Wednesday, however, beat their compatriots from DPS "B" this morning to keep their hope alive for a berth in the semi final.

Meanwhile Deb brothers -- Shibam and Debam -- almost assured their slot in the semi final, winning their Senior Boys Pairs league race against Khalsa Boys School "B".

The twin brothers on Wednesday won all the three league races they competed in this group.

In the other league races of  Senior Boys Pairs event Andrews High School "B" beat St James, Khalsa "B defeated Kalidhan Institution, Andrews High School "A" got the better of National High West Bengal and Jagat Bandhu Institution beat Andrews High School "B".
