Kolkata, Dec 12 (IBNS): Argentina's football legend Diego Maradona, who is on a three-day visit to Kolkata, spent time with school children in the outskirts of the city on Tuesday.

Maradona had interacted with the children at a workshop organised at a sporting school in the city.

The 57-year old legend was seen happily agreeing to snap photographs with the children in a decent crowd gathering in a football ground of a prominent school in West Bengal.

Maradona, who was wearing ash coloured t-shirt and short, was welcomed by a huge round of cheer all over the park.

The Argentine footballer did not miss to thank his fans and also kicked several balls into the crowd driving the mob crazy.

The young aspirant players even got an opportunity to shoot balls to the goalpost with the assistances of Maradona.

Maradona even once sat down with the young boys on the football ground, not just for photo-ops, but also for giving some tips to the players.

The workshop was followed by a football match between two teams, led by Maradona and former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly.

Both the legends, Maradona and Ganguly, shared some light moments on the field.

The event was organised by West Bengal ruling party Trinamool Congress' leader Sujit Bose. This is Maradona's second visit to the city since 2008.

Maradona played for Argentina between 1977 and 1994. He is largely remembered for his brilliant display of skills in 1986 football world cup leading Argentina to lift the trophy.

He scored 34 goals in 91 matches in his football career.

He was declared as the player of the 20th century along with Brazilian football legend Pele.

The Argentine also played the role of a coach for his national team.

Maradona will conclude his India-visit on Wednesday.
