Hyderabad, May 13 (IBNS) Amid doubts over his return to the national side int he summer, England batsman Kevin Pietersen will join IPL side Sunrisers Hyderabad.

He will join the side on Friday.

"We are happy to announce that Kevin Pietersen @KP24 is joining the team on this Friday, May 15th," the IPL side tweeted.
Shattering all hopes, England's newly-appointed director of cricket Andrew Strauss has said there was a 'trust issue' with Kevin Pietersen.

Pietersen will not play for the national team this summer.

Strauss was quoted as saying by BBC: ""Now is the time for us to be really open about the Kevin Pietersen situation - people have been running away from it for years."

"The truth about Kevin is that he is a phenomenal cricketer. But over months and years, trust has eroded between Kevin Pietersen and the ECB," he said.

"There is a massive trust issue between me and Kevin," the former England player said.

"While there is no trust between Kevin and the ECB, it is our opinion he cannot feature in our short-term plans. Long-term, who knows?" he said.
