Kochi Port Trust wins 39th All India Major Ports Football Championship

Kolkata, Mar 27 (IBNS) Cochin Port Trust has won the 39th All India Major Ports Football Championship beating Kolkata Port Trust 2-1.

The 39th All India Major Ports Football Championship 2014-15 hosted by Kolkata Port Trust under the auspices of Major Ports Sports Control Board was concluded on Friday in a colourful valedictory programme at SAI Complex, Salt Lake.

On the valedictory session,G. Krishnakumar, Dy. Chairman, Kolkata Port Trust handed over the trophies to the winner and the runner-up teams.

B. Chaudhuri, Chief Hydraulic Engineer and President, CPT Sports Club, A. Sircar, Chief Medical Officer, Goutam Gupta, Traffic Manager (I/C) and  P. K. Chattopadhyay, Labour Adviser & Industrial Relations Officer and other senior officers and employees of Kolkata Port Trust were all present on the occassion.

Out of twelve major ports in India, seven major ports including Mumbai Port Trust, Cochin Port Trust, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, Paradip Port Trust, VOC Port Trust, Chennai Port Trust and Kolkata Port Trust participated in this tournament.

R. P. S. Kahlon, Chairman, Kolkata Port Trust congratulated all the members of the sports fraternity in major ports of India for their large and spontaneous participation and reminded all the participants of the glorious sports tradition of Kolkata Port.
