Karmakar selected for Asiad

Kolkata, Aug 3 (IBNS) Shooter Joydeep Karmakar has been selected in the India shooting team for the 17th Asian Games to be held at Inchoen in South Korea from Sept 17.

"Joydeep Karmakar has got another chance to try his fingers for winning an eluding International Games Medal as he has been selected in the India Shooting Team for the 17th Asian Games to be held at Inchoen, South Korea from 17th September to 4th October 2014," said Debkumar Samanta, Secretary General, West Bengal Rifle Association.

"Joydeep will be competiting in 50 Meters Rifle Prone event in which he achieved 4th place in the last London Olympic Games 2012. As per news received from the National Rifle Association of India, New Delhi yesterday Mr V K Dhall, President of West Bengal Rifle Association has been selected as the Manager of the of the Indian Shooting Team to Asiad 2014," he said.
