Justin Langer extends WACA contract

Perth, May 19 (IBNS): Ending all speculation over possibly taking up an assignment as Indian cricket team’s chief coach, former Australian cricketer Justin Langer has signed a two-year contract extension with Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) .

"Warriors and Scorchers coach ends speculation over England, India roles by recommitting to home state," cricket.com.au reported.

“I am flattered to be associated with potential international coaching opportunities, but the timing isn’t right for my family and I still feel there is much work to be done here in Western Australian and Australian cricket,” Langer was quoted as saying by the website.

“I look forward to continuing my work at the WACA and I am excited by this challenge," he said.

Langer had played 105 Test matches for Australia.
