Durham, Oct 28 (IBNS): English county side Durham has signed James Weighell for a two-year contract extension.

The club said he will play for the side until the close of the 2020 season.

The 23-year-old paceman enjoyed a productive 2017 campaign and established himself as a first team player across all formats. Weighell ended the year with 38 wickets and finished as the Club’s third-highest wicket-taker in the NatWest T20 Blast, the Durham website read.

“I’m delighted to have signed an extension with Durham and excited to help the Club challenge for silverware,” Weighell  was quoted as saying by the club website.

“I feel happy with the progress I have made and feel I can now continue to develop my skills across all formats," he said.
