IPL 2021: Samson's ton goes in vain, PBKS beat RR by 4 runs

Mumbai/UNI: Captain Sanju Samson's fantastic century went in vain as Punjab Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 4 runs in the fourth match of the IPL 2021, here on Monday.

Put into bat, fantastic fifties by from KL Rahul (91), Deepak Hooda (64) and Chris Gayle's knock of 40 powered Punjab Kings to 221 for 6 in 20 overs.For RR, Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets for 31 runs in four overs.In reply, Rajasthan fall short of the target by just 4 runs with Samson top-scoring with 119 from 63 balls.

Arshdeep Singh (3/35) was the star performer with the ball for Punjab.

Punjab Kings: 221/6 in 20 overs (K L Rahul 91, Deepak Hooda 64; Chetan Sakariya 3/31).
RR: 217 for 7 in 20 overs (Sanju Samson 119; Arshdeep Singh 3/35, Mohammed Shami 2/33).
