INDvSA: First T20I abandoned without toss due to rains

| @indiablooms | Dec 11, 2023, at 04:21 pm

Durban/UNI: The first of the three-match T20I series between India and South Africa was abandoned without a toss due to incessant rain here on Sunday.

Contrary to the meteorologists forecast, the rain did not stop, but kept on pouring. They had predicted that the weather might hold up during the match.

This was a dampening beginning to the T20I series as the packed house at the Kingsmead returned home without a single ball being bowled.

Selectors of both the countries are in the hunt for the right combination for the T20 World Cup, with only six T20Is each before the marquee event next year in West Indies and the US.

For youngsters, this was a bad day as they were very much eager to showcase their talent ahead of the T20 World Cup.

The second T20I will be played at St George's Park in Gqeberha on December 12.
