Rain hit the match during the second innings of the game when India was batting at 15 runs for the loss of no wickets at the end of two overs.
Ajinkya Rahane (4*) and Rohit Sharma (10*) were at the crease when rain stopped the proceedings of the game.
India were chasing 144 for victory.
After enduring a hammering in the first T20I match of the two-match series against the West Indies, the Indian bowlers put up a disciplined show to bowl out the batting side for 143 runs.
Earlier in the day, Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the coin toss and decided to bowl first.
Taking a cue from the last match, the Indian side made a change and replaced Stuart Binny with spinner Amit Mishra, a move which paid dividends.
Mishra picked up three wickets, including the wicket of Johnson Charles, who scored 43 runs and looked the most threatening of the Caribbean batsmen.
Charles's 25-ball innings consisted of two sixes and five fours.
The other batsmen failed to build on their start, as Ashwin, Shami and Bumrah picked up a brace each.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar accounted for a scalp, picking up the wicket of Andre Russell.
It was a contrasting display of batsmanship from the Caribbean batsmen as they failed to get a partnership going.
Their highest partnership was of 26 runs, for the second and third wickets.
The Indian bowlers too bowled good lines, as the pacers banged in the ball short at times to surprise the batsmen.
