India reduce West Indies to 90-5 at lunch on day 1 of first Test

Ahmedabad/IBNS: India reduced West Indies to 90-5 at lunch on the inaugural day of the first Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first.

Mohammed Siraj, who struck early, picked three wickets for 19 runs in the first session.

India's premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and spinner Kuldeep Yadav shared one wicket each.

West Indies skipper Roston Chase remained unbeaten at 22 when the players went back to the hut for a meal following wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope's dismissal at 26 by Kuldeep.
