India-Pakistan clash in Asia Cup today

| @indiablooms | Sep 19, 2018, at 11:56 am

Dubai, Sept 19 (IBNS): After beating Hong Kong in a competitive match a day ago, India will face arch-rival Pakistan in the Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium here on Wednesday.

This is the first time the two teams will take on each other since Champions Trophy 2017 final.

In the final of the tournament, Pakistan had outplayed India to clinch the trophy.

In absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, who has been rested for the Asia Cup by the selectors, right-handed batsman Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian cricket team in the ongoing tournament.

A day ago, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed said Kohli's absence will be felt by India.

"Apart from Kohli, the Indian team has other good players too," Sarfraz was quoted as saying by Dawn News.

"[But], Kohli is a big player, and [his absence] could make a difference for India," he said.

"The Indian team must have done their home work,"  he said hoping that Rohit Sharma and his men are ready for the clash.

In their first match, India clinched a 26-run victory against Hong Kong on Tuesday.

Pakistan too began their Asia Cup journey by defeating the same team.
