India defeats South Africa by 203 runs in first Test

Visakhapatnam, Oct 6 (UNI) India here on Sunday defeated the guest South Africa by 203 runs in the first test of three-match series.

Chasing a target of 395 runs, South Africa was all out for 191, shortly after the lunch of the final day of the first test. Pacer Mohammed Shami took five wickets while slow left arm bowler Ravindra Jadeja bagged four.

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin got one wicket and with this he became the fastest bowler to take 350 wickets, along with Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan.
