India beat Bangladesh by 5 runs in rain-hit match, Rohit Sharma's men on verge of reaching semis

Adelaide: India defeated Bangladesh by five runs, as per DLS method, in a Super 12 stage match of the T20 World Cup here on Wednesday.

After scoring competitive 184 runs by losing six wickets, Bangladesh were restricted at 145 for the loss of six wickets, five runs short of winning the match in a rain-hit match.

As per DLS method, the target was revised to 151 runs in 16 overs.

Litton Das had left the Indian fans in shock after he hammered 27-ball 60.

He hammered Indian bowlers all-round the park to leave Bangladesh in a strong position at the start of the match.

After rain hit the Bangladeshi run chase, and the score was revised,the Men In Green found some tough time in recovering and continued losing wickets at regular intervals.

Arshdeep Singh took two wickets and Hardik Pandya picked up the same to leave Bangladesh in trouble.

India bounced back in the match as Das got run out.

A stylish unbeaten knock of 64 runs by Virat Kohli helped India post 184 runs for the loss of six wickets in a crucial Super 12 stage match of the T20 World Cup here on Wednesday.

Kohli hammered eight boundaries and a six in his sensible knock which left Bangladeshi bowlers under pressure.

KL Rahul returned to form and contributed 32-ball 50 as he gave a strong start to the innings after Rohit Sharma (2) departed.
Suryakumar Yadav, who is perhaps having a golden run in his career, scored a quick-fire 16-ball 30.

He is currently the number one batsman in the T20 format in the world.

Hasan Mahmud picked up three wickets for Bangladesh.
