Gautam Gambhir hits 90 no, guides KKR to victory against SH

Hyderabad, Apr 16 (IBNS): Skipper Gautam Gambhir played a heroic knock of unbeaten 90 runs which helped Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderbad by eight wickets here on Saturday in the first IPL match of the day.

Restricting Hyderabaad at 142 runs for seven, KKR reached 146 runs for the loss of two wickets with 10 balls to spare.

Gambhir hammered 13 boundaries and 1 six in his 60 balls knock.

Gambhir and Robin Uthappa (38) added 92 runs in the first wicket partnership which cruised the team towards victory.

Andy Russell (2) failed but it was

Manish Pandey (11*) who joined Gambhir to reached the winning scores.


Ashish Reddy and Mustafizur Rahman picked up a wicket each for Hyderabad.

Earlier, England skipper Eoin Morgan hit 51 as Hyderabad reached 142 runs in their 20 overs. He hit three boundaries and two sixes in his knock.

Umesh Yadav picked up three wickets for KKR while South African Morne Morkel took two.
