Galle Test: India win toss, elect to bat first against Sri Lanka

Galle, July 26 (IBNS): Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first in the opening test match against Sri Lanka here on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka's newly appointed captain Dinesh Chandimal is not playing the match due to his health issues.

Spinner Rangana Herath will be leading the Sri Lankan team in Galle test.

Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan replaced KL Rahul in the first match against Sri Lanka as the latter is down with flu.

Hardik Pandya is also playing the match for India.

India is off to Sri Lanka to play three test matches, five ODIs and a lone T20 game.

Indian squad: Shikhar Dhawan, Abhinav Mukund, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli(c), Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik Pandya, Wriddhiman Saha(w), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami.

Sri Lankan squad: Dimuth Karunaratne, Upul Tharanga, Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka, Angelo Mathews, Asela Gunaratne, Niroshan Dickwella(w), Dilruwan Perera, Rangana Herath(c), Lahiru Kumara, Nuwan Pradeep.
