Future Group unveils the new look of Pro Kabaddi team Bengal Warriors

Kolkata, July 2 (IBNS): Bengal Warriors, which is a team in the cash-rich Pro Kabaddi League, unveiled their new look at an event hosted by their team owners Future Group in Kolkata on Wednesday.

Former India Captain and Arjun Awardee Dinesh Kumar will be captaining the team this season.

The Kolkata franchise will take on the Bengaluru Bulls in their inaugural match of the second season.

Much like the first season, the second season of the league will be in a caravan format.

The home matches will start from July 22 with their first home match against Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan owned Jaipur Pink Panthers at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.

Speaking at the event, Bengal Warrior's coach Raj Narain Sharma said: “This year we are much stronger as a unit, we have few news players based on the positions. This time we promise to deliver much better than our performance in the last season.”

This year the franchise has a 24-member squad with two new overseas players- Mohammed Tariq from Pakistan and Chaminda Samarakoon from Sri Lanka.

Bengal Warriors finished seventh in the last season of Pro Kabaddi League. The league will commence on July 18 in Mumbai.
