Doha: The final match between Argentina and France has moved to extra time after the two sides remained tied 2-2 in the regulation time here on Sunday.

French football star Kylian Mbappe scored twice as France equalised 2-2 with Argentina in the neck-to-neck final of the Qatar World Cup here on Sunday.

First converting a penalty in the 80 minute, Mbappe then scored the equaliser in the 81st minute to help his squad bounce back in the game which was dominated by Argentina till that point.

Messi, earlier in the first half of the game, converted a penalty and then Di Maria added another to take Argentina 2-0 up in the game.

While Argentina looked dominating in the first half, the French brigade bounced back at the end of the second half to make things interesting.

France are the current world champions.

Argentina is looking to win the title for another time after last winning it in 1986.

This is Lionel Messi's final international match for Argentina.
