FIFA World Cup: Netherlands defeat Senegal 2-0; USA-Wales 1-1

Two late goals helped Netherlands overwhelm Senegal in their tournament opener in the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Monday.

Cody Gakpo provided the much awaited 1-0 lead to the Dutch team in the 84th minute beating goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Confirming the victory, substitute Davy Klaaseen hit the nets in the backend of the extra time.

The third match of the day between the USA and Wales went for a draw with a scoreline 1-1.

The first match was held between England and Iran.

The English men thrashed Iran by 6-2 in a complete one-sided match.
