England triumph over Suryakumar scare to halt India's clean sweep dream in T20Is

Nottingham/IBNS: Suryakumar Yadav's firing knock of 117 was not enough for India to earn a clean sweep in the T20I series against England, who managed to win the third and last encounter by 17 runs here Sunday.

Chasing a target of 216, it was Yadav who kept India in the hunt until he was dismissed at 117 off just 55 balls in the 19th over.

Yadav, who slammed 14 fours and six sixes, was remotely backed by Shreyas Iyer who stitched a 119-run partnership with the former for the fourth wicket.

Recee Topley picked three wickets for 22 in four overs for England.

Winning the toss and batting first, England scored 215/7 in 20 overs.

Dawid Malan scored 77 off 39 balls while Liam Livingstone slammed unbeaten 42 off 29 balls to help England go past 200.

Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel picked two wickets each.

With wins in the first two matches, India sealed a series victory here 2-1.
