Mumbai, Nov 20 (IBNS): Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday urged parents to take a pledge that they will allow their children to play a game they love.

He said guardians should encourage their children to lead a healthy and fit life.

"We as parents and guardians should always teach our kids to lead a healthy and fit life. Today, on #WorldChildrensDay, let’s all take a pledge to encourage our kids to play the sport they like, any sport," Sachin tweeted.

Sachin gave the message to parents on the occasion of World Children's Day.

Sachin is considered as one of the top batsmen to play for India in the history of the game.

He had also served as the skipper of the Indian side in his career.
