Eden Gardens: Cricket legends felicitated before India- Pakistan match

Kolkata, Mar 19 (IBNS) The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on Saturday felicitated former players of India and Pakistan who were present at the Eden Gardens before the start of the high voltage India-Pakistan match here.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, on behalf of the CAB, presented a scarf, a memento and flower bouquet to  Imran Khan, Wasim Akram  and Waqar Younis of Pakistan and  Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Shewag and Sachin Tendulkar in presence of  former India captain and  president  of  CAB Sourav Ganguly. Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and  film star Abhishek Bachchan  were also  felicitated by the West Bengal Chief Minister  at the function.

While Imran Khan , Sachin Tendulkar and Abhishek Bachchan expressed their gratitude for the felicitation, Chief minister Mamata banerjee  thanked the cricketers for their presence at the function.

Noted Pakistani  singer Shafaqat Amanat Ali Khan and  Amitabh Bachchan  sang the national anthem of Pakistan and India respectively before the start of the match.
