DPS, Narayana, South Point, and National High School athletes win gold at 50th All India School Regatta Championship in Kolkata

Kolkata: Bisaja Chakraborty, Yona Sengupta, Sanskar Chakraborty, and Md Arman clinched gold in indoor rowing at the second day of the 50th All India Invitation Schools Rowing Championship here on Monday.

Bisaja (Junior Girls, represented DPS), Yona (Senior Girls, represented Narayana School Sonarpur), Sanskar (Junior Boys, represented South Point), and Arman (Senior Boys, represented National High School) topped the second of the events hosted by Lake Club.

To complete the simulated rowing indoors for a 500-metre distance, Bisaja and Yona timed 1 min 33.8 sec and 1 min 53.4 sec, while Sanskar and Arman clocked 1 min 33.8 sec and 1 min 34.5 sec, respectively.

Bhaswati Kolay (Ashok Hall) and Sunayana Gayen (A.K. Ghosh Memorial) won silver and bronze in Junior Girls. Aadhya Radhakrishnan (National High School) and Ritsika Das (Ashok Hall) took silver and bronze in Senior Girls.

Devansh Chakraborty and Kankhi T Sarkar (South Point) earned silver and bronze in Junior Boys. Romit Toppo (Andrews) and Md Zaheer Khan (St Augustine’s) secured silver and bronze in Senior Boys

Outdoor rowing will resume from Tuesday morning.
