Don't see anything wrong with Kohli's batting: Indian captain Rohit Sharma

Kohli has been in poor batting form lately, scoring 8, 18, 0 in the three ODIs respectively against West Indies.

The right-hander hasn't registered a century since 2019.

He has, however, scored 10 fifties in the last two years, including two half-centuries in South Africa.

"Virat Kohli needs confidence? What are you saying?" Rohit chuckled while replying at the virtual press conference, adding, "Not making a hundred is a different thing. He has played well in South Africa as well. I don't think anything is wrong with him. The team management is not at all worried about him."

India defeated West Indies in the inconsequential third ODI by 96 runs and also whitewashed the series 3-0.

When asked what were the positive takeaways from the series, Rohit said it was the bowling unit.

"Along with Prasidh (Krishna), (Mohammed) Siraj was outstanding. Deepak Chahar was impressive too. I think it was great to see them. Not to forget Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.

"I can see the glimpses of old Kuldeep, bowling those googlies and getting batters to nick. I told him to just get his rhythm back. Washy (Washington Sundar) did well in the first two. He was a little off today but that doesn't matter."

Talking about the middle-order, positions for which Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar are contesting, the India ODI captain said that having so many candidates is a good headache.

"No. 4, 5, 6 are important. Some of the greats have batted at that position. Whoever bats at those numbers, they should get game time. We have so many candidates for that. It's a good headache. Whoever got a chance, they performed and got runs as well."

India and West Indies will now head to Kolkata to play the T20I leg on Feb 16, 18 and 20 at the Eden Gardens.
