DKS: Dhruv Sunish lifts trophy

Kolkata,Jan 21 (IBNS): After playing the final in Chandigarh Grade 3 ITF Juniors in the first week of 2017 and having played the finals of 2 ITF Juniors in 2016 in India, the title hungry Dhruv Sunish finally lifts the championship trophy in Boys Singles at the just concluded 25th DKS ITF JUNIORS 2017, held at the red clay courts of the Dakshin Kalikata Sansad.

Sunish, currently ranked 2 in India in the Under 18 category played flawless for about 1hr and 14mins, to drub Kazakhstan's Dostanbek Tashbulatov by a straight 6-2,6-3.

In the final of Girls Singles, it was more of a one-sided affair as Belgium's 17 year old Axana Mareen, seeded 1 in the draw whitewashed India's Akanksha Bhan by 6-1,6-3. Bhan, the winner of Under 18 in the 2016 Fenesta Nationals, could almost do nothing as she got overpowered by the stronger Mareen in a mere 55 minutes.
