Kolkata/IBNS: The Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI), the umbrella body for all types of Differently Abled Cricket in the country, on Thursday uncovered the Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy 2024.

Former Indian cricketer Arun Lal, DCCI General Secretary Ravi Chauhan, West Bengal Cricket Association for Differently-Abled's Chief Patron Arun Saraf, and other DCCI officials were present at the event held in a Kolkata five-star hotel.

The Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy 2024 will be played between three teams — Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal — from March 15 to 17 at Aditya Academy in Barasat near Kolkata.

Speaking on the occasion, DCCI General Secretary Ravi Chauhan said, "The Physical Disability Triangular T20 Trophy is a unique platform that celebrates the talent and determination of physically disabled cricketers."

"We have always wished to bring change in society in every way possible. We want to create awareness that the differently-abled can do whatever they want to do in life, in fact even better than a normal person," Chauhan added.

Former Indian cricketer Arun Lal said, "Differently abled cricket, which was not in the limelight for many years, is now rapidly growing with the determination, hard work and struggles of the DCCI as well as the players."

Expressing his hope that there will be a premier league for differently abled cricketers in near future, Arun Lal said, "Differently abled cricketers are not only an inspiration for me, but also an inspiration for the nation."

The former cricketer batted for more sponsorships and fundings in the differently abled cricket sector.

Chief Patron of West Bengal Cricket Association for Differently-Abled, Arun Saraf, said that he was committed to working tirelessly to ensure equal opportunities for all cricketers in the state, regardless of ability.

Disability cricket is a variant of cricket played by individuals with various disabilities.

Differently-abled cricket encompasses various forms such as Blind Cricket, Deaf and Mute Cricket, Physical Disability Cricket and Wheelchair Cricket.
