Davis Cup: Leander Paes, Bopanna beat China in doubles match

Tianjin, Apr 7 (IBNS): India's iconic Tennis player  Leander Paes and his partner Rohan Bopanna kept the country's hopes alive in the   Davis Cup Asia/Ocenia Group I tieby beating China here on Saturday.

 Leander and Bopanna looked powerful in their doubles approach as they managed a victory in the tough competition against Chinese opponents.

They defeated Chinese pair of Mo Xin Gong and Ze Zhang in the clash.

They defeated the Chinese team by 5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3) margin.

The match was significant for Paes as he managed to clinch record 43rd Davis Cup victory to become the most successful player in the history of the tennis competition.

India are now trailing the host nation 1-2.

Ramkumar Ramanathan and Sumit Nagal  earlier lost their singles matches.
