Dalmiya returns as BCCI prez, Anurag Thakur is new secretary

Chennai, Mar 2 (IBNS): Veteran official Jagmohan Dalmiya was on Monday elected the President of Indian cricket's governing body, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), replacing N Srinivasan who is facing legal blows and severe criticism over the IPL betting scam.
Dalmiya returned as the chief of the board after a decade at its 85th annual general meeting in Chennai on Monday.
 
Dalmiya, the current president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), had earlier emerged as consensus candidate from N. Srinivasan’s camp.
 
Meanwhile, Anurag Thakur, who was joint-secretary earlier, is the new secretary as he beat Sanjay Patel 15-14.
 
Amitabh Chaudhary  from Jharkhand and Anirudh Chaudhary from Haryana are joint-secretary and Treasurer respectively.
 
M.L. Nehru has been elected as the  Vice President (North) while  G. Ganga Raju is the Vice President (South).
 
Gautam Roy, T. C. Mathew, C.K. Khanna will be Vice Presidents of East, West, and Central respectively.
