Colombo Test: Indian bowlers choke Sri Lanka, force to follow-on

Colombo, Aug 5 (IBNS): After their batsmen registering a mammoth total in the first innings, the Indian bowlers stepped up to show their skills as they reduced hosts Sri Lanka to only 183 on Saturday, forcing them to follow-on.

In a reply to India's 622-9 dec. in the first innings, Sri Lanka was bowled out to just 183 with a trail of 439 runs.

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the star bowler for India as he picked up five wickets for 69 in 16.4 overs.

Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja shared two scalps each.

Sri Lanka were miserable with the bat in the first innings. Niroshan Dickwella was the only Sri Lankan batsman to score a fifty.

India lead the three-match test series 1-0.
