Chess: Chandreyee on the run, Sonkalan upset Kaustav

Kolkata, June 4 (IBNS): The DPS Ruby Park 37th State Sub junior (Boys & Girls U 15) entered into crucial phase on Wednesday as with three rounds to go in both sections, Chandreyee Hazra (6 points after 6th round) maintained all win record to make clear one-point lead over her nearest rivals 4th seed Shinjini Sengupta and 5th seed Asmita Das.

While top seed in the boys section Koustav failed to keep momentum by conceding full point to 4th seed Sonkalan Bharati in the 6th round.

With 5.5 points Sonkalan and 3rd seed Saptorshi Gupta leading the table after 6th round. Koustav with 5 points after 6th round is now in the joint second position with 2nd seed Sarbojit Paul, 5th seed Aronyak Ghosh,  Arka Sengupta, sayantan Mukherjee, Avijaan Roy Chowdhury and Ayushman Majumdar.
