Chennai, Apr 25 (IBNS) Chennai Super Kings eased past Kings XI Punjab as they beat the visiting team by 97 runs in an Indian Premier League match here on Saturday.

Chennai Super Kings outplayed their opponents in every department as they batted first to post a mammoth total of 192 runs for the loss of three wickets. Kings were restricted to 95 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

For CSK, Brendon McCullum scored 66 runs off 44 balls which included 3 sixes and 8 fours.

Captain MS Dhoni chipped in with a quickfire 41 n.o. off 27 balls towards later stages of the innings.

Kings XI Punjab made a disastrous start to their run-chase as they lost opener Virender Sehwag in just the 5th ball of the innings.

Thereafter, the Punjab batting line-up fell like a house of cards as no batsman could settle down and score big.
