Charu Sharma to conduct IPL auction proceedings after Hugh Edmeades collapses

Bengaluru: Popular TV anchor Charu Sharma will host the IPL players' auction after  auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed on the stage, leaving the proceedings halted midway.

Hugh Edmeades is currently stable.

"Mr. Hugh Edmeades, the IPL Auctioneer, had an unfortunate fall due to Postural Hypotension during the IPL Auction this afternoon. The medical team attended to him immediately after the incident & he is stable. Mr. Charu Sharma will continue with the Auction proceedings today," the official page of the Indian Premier League tweeted.

Edmeades fell on the ground from the stage when the bidding for Sri Lankan cricketer Wanindu Hasaranga was underway.

All franchise owners were shocked when they heard a loud sound occur in the middle of the auction process.
