Brett Lee mourns Asha Bhosle, recalls collaboration: 'Her kindness and humility stayed with me'
Mumbai/IBNS: Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee has recounted his experience of working with legendary singer Asha Bhosle as he mourned her demise.
In an Instagram post, Lee said what stayed with him most was Bhosle’s kindness and humility despite her extraordinary success.
Bhosle passed away at the age of 92.

Sharing his experience of recording the song, Lee wrote, “I had the pleasure of writing and recording You’re the One for Me with Asha Bhosle back in 2006. It’s something I’ll always be incredibly grateful for.”
“What stayed with me most wasn’t just her extraordinary talent, but how kind and humble she was. For someone who had achieved so much in her life, she carried herself with such warmth and generosity,” he added.
“My thoughts are with her family and friends at this time. I feel very fortunate to have shared even a small moment with someone so special. There’s no doubt her legacy will live on for generations to come,” the former Aussie pace bowler added.
About the song You’re the One for Me
Lee and Bhosle collaborated on the crossover track You’re the One for Me, featured on the 2006 music project Asha & Friends.
Brett Lee, the Australian fast bowler, also stepped into music as a vocalist for this Indo-international fusion track, while Asha Bhosle lent her iconic playback voice, blending Hindi vocals with English lines sung by Lee.
The song gained attention for its unusual cricket–music crossover and became a novelty hit at the time of its release.
It was part of Asha & Friends, an album that featured collaborations with several contemporary artists.
