'Boss' Shah Rukh Khan apologises to fans for Kolkata Knight Riders' 'lack of spirit'

Kolkata, May 10 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner, Shah Rukh Khan, has apologised to fans for his team's "lack of spirit" in the home match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.

Following Kolkata's 102-run defeat, Khan took to Twitter to say, "Sports is about the spirit & wins/losses don’t reflect that. But tonite as the ‘Boss’ I need to apologise to the fans for the lack of spirit"

The stage was set for the Knights to emerge victorious by chasing down 211 in front of Khan, who was present at the stands, but the batting unit fell down like a pack of cards and bowled out to 108 in 18.1 overs.

A batting collapse with an addition of couple of crucial run-outs forced the Knights to face an embarrassing defeat against Mumbai, who scored 210/6 in 20 overs.

After a long gap, Khan was present at the Eden Gardens to witness the sporting encounter between Kolkata and Mumbai on Wednesday.
