Bengaluru to host Vodafone Cycling Marathon 2015

Bengaluru, Dec 19 (IBNS): Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, on Friday announced the second edition of Bengaluru’s cycling extravaganza – Vodafone Cycling Marathon 2015.

With the grand success of its maiden edition in 2014, the event  will further endeavor to encourage the spirit of cycling for passion, fun and greener environment in the city across all age groups.

The second edition of the marathon will be held on Mar 1 and is expected to see more than 8,000 cyclists, including 150 elite licensed cyclists of CFI, from across India participating in it.

The event is recognized by Cycling Federation of India (CFI) .The event will also be acknowledged in the National & International Calendar of cycling events.

Commenting on the second edition, Suresh Kumar, Operation Director – South, Vodafone India said, “As a responsible corporate, we’ve championed several projects and initiatives that have helped improve lives and created a positive impact in the community. VODAFONE CYCLING MARATHON 2015 is a continuous effort to promote the cycling culture in the city and at the same time help the community to lead a healthy life in a greener environment.”

Speaking on the second edition, Atanu Batabyal, Business Head – Karnataka, Vodafone India said, “With the success of our maiden edition, we are confident that the people in Bengaluru will come out in large number to participate in the second edition. There is a need for people in the city to take to cycling to cope up with heavy traffic and pollution. The second edition of VODAFONE CYCLING MARATHON 2015, promises to be bigger and better with more riders and more fun.”
