BCCI congratulates Indian Women’s team on winning Asia Cup title

Mumbai, Dec 4 (IBNS): The Indian Women’s team beat Pakistan by 17 runs to win Asia Cup T20 tournament in Bangkok on Sunday.

The Indian eves scored 121 for the loss of five wickets after batting first with Mithali Raj leading from the front with 73 runs.

Pakistan could manage just 104 for 6 in 20 overs as Ekta Bisht led the way with 2 for 22.

BCCI President Anurag Thakur, said: “On behalf of the BCCI, I would like to congratulate the Indian women’s team for their emphatic win. This is the sixth title win in Asia Cup and also proves our dominance in the region as the leading Women’s team.”

Ajay Shirke, Hony. Secretary, said: “The Indian team has done everyone proud by stretching India’s unbeaten run in the Asia Cup to 32 matches and taking the Asia Cup title count to six. I congratulate the entire team for this outstanding achievement.”
