Mumbai/UNI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the schedule for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

The 13th season of the high-profile tournament will kickstart with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on March 29.

Unlike previous seasons, the BCCI has decided to reduce the number of doubleheaders this year. This time around, two matches will be played only on Sundays and the number of doubleheaders have come down to only six.

IPL will release the schedule for the knockouts later while the finals will be played on May 24 as the cash-rich league will span for a duration of 57 days this year.

Barring Rajasthan Royals, who have listed out Guwahati as their probable second home venue, the other seven franchises have stuck to their traditional venues for home games.

The tournament will begin just 11 days after the completion of India’s ODI series at home against South Africa.

Below is the IPL 2020 full schedule:

March 29, Sunday : Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings - 2000 hrs in Mumbai

March 30, Monday : Delhi Capitals vs Kings XI Punjab - 2000 hrs in Delhi

March 31, Tuesday :  Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders - 2000 hrs in Bengaluru.
